Village Wedding – Enos & Kholo

This was one of the hottest event I have ever shot. Ga-Mokopane (Limpopo province) was very hot. Against all odds, I managed to document Mr Enos and Kholo’s wedding. They were wore traditional clothing and they were very bright and attractive. Neighbours and friends came with their regalia also to support and celebrate with the Mr Enos Enjoy the pictures!

My photo of the year (2014)

Tumi's Family-9 BW

This was done in a dining room @ her mother’s flat in Florida, West of Johannesburg. I must say, this is my photo of the year. I love the person in it and how I managed to get the high key shot that I had anticipated. This shot came out the way I wanted. 🙂 Practice makes improvement. I had prepared how I will do the technique used a day before.

I had fun working with the baby and her family and given an opportunity and also if time allows me, I will go and snap her again. She is cute, chubby and bubbly. 🙂 🙂

Enjoy my photo of the year 2014 🙂 🙂

Mohloboko Octavious Phukubye

Mohloboloko Octavious Phukubye

Mr Mohloboloko Octavious Phukubye @ Braamfontein, Johannesburg. I see this man as Mr. SAB Kickstart, some see him as Dad, Friend, Colleague, Mr Neat, and whatever he may branded himself to you. I see him as Mr SAB Kickstart because I met him at SAB Kickstart program 2012. 🙂 🙂 :).  My main reason for seeing him as Mr. SAB Kickstart is the passion and drive that you see in him when he talks about entrepreneurship and how SAB Kickstart program plays a pivotal role in the lives of entrepreneurs.

This shot was just taken after we had a pre-supper at Vuyo’s in Braamfontein. We talked business, a bit of innovation and most importantly networking. Networking is one me of the important things that an entrepreneur needs in order to survive in a dog-eat-dog business world. The strength of your network will determine your success in sustaining your business. Maintaining and nurturing your networks in business is also very crucial. Now and again it is important to keep in touch with people in your network as your profit line depends on them. Mohloboko mentioned that I need to network with relevant people and always be closer to my network. This is true because I can only feel the heat if i am closer to the fire. It is better to have a powerful and a strong network of influential people than having lots of money and no network.

Interesting thing that we also talked about was commenting about political and religious views in public and on social media. It is important as an emerging business person to reserve your political and religious views to yourself as you will never know who might be listening. One of your important client with a bigger purse might be a staunch supporter of an opposition party and you might chase him away only by saying negative things about his/her political party of choice. This also applies on religion. Always be alert on the things you say, where you say them and who is listening. Once you say a word (negative or positive), you will never reverse or get the opportunity to replace it.  🙂 🙂 🙂

Hello Johannesburg Event

Hello Johannesburg is publication that comes once a month and it is published by Spinner Communications. “Spinner Communications, established in 1980, has arguably through the years, been the leading publisher of hospitality and entertainment guides for the major centres of South Africa. Currently, with an increasingly effective distribution, Spinner Communications offers valuable advertising space and exposure in a number of successful publications, such as Hello Johannesburg, Hello Cape Town, Hello Durban, Hello Soweto, Leading Venues, Conference and Function Times and Festive Season”

Recently I was invited to one of their events in Fourways – Design Quarter held at a classy restaurant called Buddhata. The magazine just turned 33 years and the celebration was at this mentioned restaurant. It was a bit chilly but people came to celebrate and have fun with Hello JHB team. I had a great time and I met and networked with some of the guests at the party and had loads of fun. Below are some of the shots that I took on the day.

Toying with my lion pet

Toying with my lion pet

After more than 1000 photos that I took today with my lion, only two speak with me. I retouched them with Photoshop, Alien Skin and HDR Effex Pro softwares to enhance them.

I love photography and it is one of the ways that helps me to relax. I am constantly learning and improving my shots daily. One can never say he is the best or an expert.

I am continuing to better my photography skill so as to give my clients fresh and diversified approaches to photography.
